I watched Meteor Garden due to Netflix recommendation and got the pleasantest surprise - I fell in love with it too, though I couldn't help comparing the two adaptations of the Japanese series Hana Yori Dango. Boys Over Flowers (Korean version) is one of my most favorite drama series of all time.
